THIS IS THE REDSHAW LIVESTOCK STORY.

Laurence Redshaw began his career as a livestock agent in the Wairoa-Gisborne region. After relocating to Havelock North, he established his own company, LI Redshaw Ltd in 1985 and operated independently until Keith Harris joined him in 1990. In 1988, the business secured the right to sell at Stortford Lodge saleyards. Two sales a week, plus specials, and from there it grew steadily with further agents joining the team and becoming shareholders in the Company.

In 2015, the current agents and shareholders formed Redshaw Livestock. Following the passing of Laurence Redshaw in 2016, the team continued to build on his legacy. By 2017, NZ Farmers Livestock held a 52% shareholding, with the remaining 48% held by local agents.

In 2026, Redshaw Livestock became part of the Rural Livestock Ltd group. A 100% New Zealand owned and operated network of more than 100 agents nationwide. Today, our local team of agents service Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, Manawatu, Wairarapa and Taupo, with casual staff on board throughout the season.
